Before getting into the resale certificate, let’s get into something that’s relatively simple and easy to get the whole t-shirt.
The first thing that you can do is to find a wholesale distributor, there are tons of them, and these are places where they buy in bulk from suppliers like Bella+Canvas, and they have it available for you.
They are present in most of the local parts of the country, and you need to find the ones that are near to your place.
So, instead of going to the manufacturer, they are a lot closer, and you can cut down a lot on some of those shipping costs.

Now, this is the thing that if you want to buy shirts here, then you have to be a qualified decorator such as a screen printer, embroider, or you can sell promotional products. Or, you are a brand, and I mean a LEGITIMATE brand.

So, let’s get into the process!
You can go to the Bella+Canvas website and click on create an account:
They are going to ask you for some details, and if you don’t have them, then you won’t be able to do it.
Now, I am going to take some time, and hopefully, it doesn’t get too complicated.
To buy direct from a manufacturer, you need a wholesale or a resale license.
To get a wholesale or resale license, you have to be a legal business entity, and that can be a sole proprietorship, partnership, or a corporation like an S Corp, C Corp, LLC, etc.
If you have a partnership that is like a sole proprietorship but with more than one person or a corporation, then you need to get something called an EIN number, which is the equivalent to a Social security number for the businesses.
In case if you have a sole proprietorship, then you can use your social security number. In many cases of a sole proprietorship, people get something called a DBA (Doing Business As), which can be like Patty Ishkabible doing business as Outta Site Tees!
So, once you get your EIN and social security number, you are now eligible to go and apply for a wholesale or resale license for your t-shirt business.
Now, every state, province, and county is different, and I strongly suggest that you do a Google search and do your due diligence to see that what you are going to need to get your wholesale or resale license.

Once you have your wholesale or resale license, then you can go back to your blank t-shirt supplier, like Bella+Canvas, and then you provide the required details, and you can get those beautiful blank t-shirts delivered to you.

You have to ask, and generally, they will sell it to you so that they make some extra money and you can get what you want.
So, go to your local screen printer or embroiderer and ask for a blank t-shirt, but make sure that it is an official product. This means that it should not be a bootleg, knockoff or something defective. And they will take care of you!
