Hi there, welcome to Tshirthelpdesk.com

My name is Gary. I have been working as a brand graphic designer for 20 years now, and here I am to share my wealth of knowledge with you. I teach people to design, market, and promote their t-shirt business.

I am writing this blog to show you how you can take a blank t-shirt and make it yours by adding design, branding, and hang tags.

We are going to take a blank t-shirt, which is provided by Bella+Canvas, and we are going to turn it into a brand t-shirt with a design, hang tag, and a printed back neck label.

The key here is to have a rip-away tag. Fortunately, Bella+Canvas provides rip-away tags in all their blanks and, I am going to show you how easy it is to brand t-shirts using these Bella+Canvas blank t-shirts.

So, let’s get into it!

How To Add Printed Back Neck Labels With Tear Away Tag T-shirts

Step 1: Here, I have a Bella+Canvas “Style 3001 Unisex Jersey Short Sleeve Tee”, and you can see that it has the rip-away tag.

Now, we are going to ripe-off the tear away tag, so that we can start branding this t-shirt:

Step 2: Once you have ripped-out your tear-away tags, the next step is to put your brand at the back of the t-shirt.

Now, you can do a woven label, but it will get itchy in the back. What you want here is to have a printed back label, because it looks good, does not itch and, it takes your t-shirt branding to the next level.

One key thing is to put a label on the back is to use a heat press. Now, you don’t need to use the big heat press machines, and you can buy a neck heat press machine. But in my opinion, that is a little over the top! So, I am going to use a hat heat press.

Let me show you!

This is a hat heat press; it is very nice, and it’s not too big of a machine. The reason why I recommend this machine is because the neck label heat press machines are big and expensive, and this one is relatively inexpensive. Also, it allows you to do print on both your t-shirts and hats.

Step2: Take your unbranded blank t-shirt, fold it inside out and this is the backside of our t-shirt, as we can see the binding here:

Now, I am going to place it on our hat heat press machine:

Step 3: Here, we have our printed brand label, courtesy of clothinglabels4you.com.

Now, when you touch it, you can feel the ink, and now you need to place this on the center of the backside of your t-shirt:

Take your teflon sheet, and place it on the brand label for protection:

Step4: Swing around the machine, and add a little bit of pressure.

The temperature has to be around 350 degrees, and we have to do this for about 15 seconds.

Step 5: Take the t-shirt from the machine and pull this out, and we are letting this cool down as it would be hot right now, so it will take a few seconds:

When it cools down, peel it off:

Your blank t-shirt has been branded, and by following this process, you can brand all your blank t-shirts.

Alright, the next step that we are going to do is put a print on your blank t-shirt.

To do this, I am going to use the big 16 X 20 heat press machine.

Let’s get into it!

Step 1: Place your t-shirt on the heat press machine, and pre-heat it.

Step 2: Here is our print that I am going to use here:

Step 3: Place your print on the t-shirt along with a Teflon sheet for added protection, and put it on the heat press:

It’s done. Here, you have your printed t-shirt with a printed back neck label as well:

I did a bunch of these, and you can see how professional it looks. Also, I added some generic hang tags from clothinglabels4you.com:
